The PCICU provides intermediate and critical care services for patients from the newborn period through adulthood twenty-four hours per day, seven days per week. Interventional Radiology Tech needed ASAP for variable day shift at our 521 bed hospital state-of-the art facility in Virginia.
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and identifies patients and collects clinical data for evaluation, scheduling, and completion of procedures. Observant of patient condition.
- Performs appropriate assessment and reassessment of patients prior to and post procedure. Compiles appropriate records to expedite results, inclusive of entering exams into Medi-tech, film identification, and the filming protocols.
- Performs all Interventional Exams
- Practices radiation safety as described in federal standards, utilizing the ALARA policy. Maintains safe working environment.
- Understands, operates, and troubleshoots all electronic information systems, to include MediTech, Solar 8000, DLX, Advantx a GE PACS, Koinca CR Readers, Advantage Workstation.
- Administers contrast media as required.
- Participates in continuing education activities to expand and enhance knowledge of the specialty and meets the continuing education requirements of the ARRT and hospital. Maintains current CPR certification
- Communicates and works effectively with other hospital departments, physician’s offices and other customers.
- Takes call after regular work hours.
- Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others. Uses appropriate patient education documentation modality.
